7 PM ( ESPN) MLB Baseball Two teams that figure to be in the postseason mix at the end of this abbreviated season get down to business tonight at Yankee Stadium, where Giancarlo Stanton and the New York Yankees do battle with their American League East archrivals in Rafael Devers and the Boston Red Sox. The Yanks got off to a fast start in the first week of the season behind the hitting of Stanton and the pitching of new ace Gerrit Cole. The Sox, by contrast, have struggled over that same time span and occupied the basement of the division.
8 PM ( DSC) Naked and Afraid Five veterans of the series — Matt Wright, Jeff Zausch, Amber and Serena Shine and Alex Manard — try to survive on a remote strip of islands located on the edge of the Bermuda Triangle in the new two-hour “Swimming Naked With Sharks.” Given that this is airing as part of Shark Week, viewers probably can anticipate that the waters surrounding these hardy souls are teeming with predators, so much so that locals of the region have dubbed this location Shark Alley.

est Political Campaign on Earth Co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon return with new half-hour episodes of their critically acclaimed political documentary series, which takes viewers behind the scenes of what most likely will go down as the most contentious presidential race in modern American history. With the United States simultaneously grappling with a deadly pandemic, an economic meltdown and unprecedented scrutiny of racial inequality, incumbent President Donald Trump is in a bitter battle against his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden.

tomac Gizelle spends her birthday with Jamal and the girls, but the celebration is awkward because of underlying tensions in the new episode “Sip and See You Later.” Karen gives Wendy the cold shoulder, and the latter takes due notice of the slight. 9 PM ( HBO) Lovecraft Country Adapted from a novel of the same title by Matt Ruff, this new 10-part limited series follows Atticus Black (Jonathan Majors) as he embarks on a risky odyssey across 1950s-era Jim Crow America to find his missing father, Montrose (Michael Kenneth Williams). In the series premiere, “Sundown,” Atticus recruits his uncle (Courtney B. Vance) and a childhood friend (Jurnee Smollett) to join him on a road trip to his Massachusetts hometown. Crossing the Midwest, they find dangers at every turn, especially after darkness falls.
10 PM ( TLC) Darcey & Stacey This new unscripted series revolves around fanfavorite identical twins Darcey and Stacey Silva from the “90 Day Fiancé” franchise. As the new series opens, Darcey is still hurting from yet another failed romance, this one with British ex-boyfriend Tom, while Stacey braces herself to take a major step in her own love life. She and Albanian fiancé Florian finally have been approved for a K-1 visa, but protective sister Darcey is wary of Florian’s true commitment, since photos of him with another woman have surfaced online.
10 PM ( TRAV) The Osbournes Want to Believe After Jack shows parents Sharon and Ozzy some paranormal footage, the clips invite a discussion about whether fairies exist, as well as lizard people for that matter, in the new episode “Fairies Wear Boots.” As their session unfolds, the First Family of Darkness debates whether the spirit of a dead soldier could live on in a ventriloquist doll, and whether ghosts are capable of doing math.
10 PM ( CNN) United Shades of America In one of the more eagerly awaited episodes of this season, the new “The Time for Reparations” finds host W. Kamau Bell making a trip to New Orleans to participate in a discussion about the viability of making reparations to Black Americans for the centuries they spent in slavery. It’s a hot-button topic, with opponents resisting the notion of just handing out a bunch of checks in stillto-be-determined amounts, but Bell finds others who thinks this discussion should open with white Americans simply acknowledging the scale and scope of slavery.
