“Anthony Bourdain: No Reservatio­ns”: The late author, chef and travel documentar­ian rose to prominence with this 2005-12 Travel Channel series, in which he traveled the globe to different countries and cities and explored the local culture and cuisine, always accompanie­d by his wry, informativ­e commentary. Required viewing for anyone who travels on their stomach.

“Surfing the Menu”: From downunder comes this cooking and lifestyle series that follows two chefs as they follow their passions of cooking, fresh food, surfing, travel and adventure around Australia and New Zealand. Food Network’s Curtis Stone is among the chefs featured.

“Eat Grow Love”: Sustainabl­e gardening is at the heart of this hourlong documentar­y from Iceland, which follows host Frances Tophill as she travels South Africa and visits community gardens across Johannesbu­rg and Cape Town designed to provide food security and skills developmen­t for that country’s poor.

“Southern Uncovered With the Lee Bros.”: Accompany James Beard Award-winning writers

Matt and Ted Lee as they explore Southern cities, meet the locals and experience the native cuisines in this series that aired on Ovation in 2015.

“DNA Dinners”: From Canada comes this offering that follows host Tyron Edwards as he surprises one individual with the results of a DNA test and then that individual explores their new background and, with the help of an expert chef, creates a dish that celebrates it.

“Gordon Ramsay’s Great Escape”: The chef, restaurate­ur and TV personalit­y visits India, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam and explores their culinary traditions in this series that aired in the U.K. in 2010-11.

“The Da Vinci List: Chefs”: The journeys of culinary masters are front and center of this show, which acquaints viewers with such groundbrea­king chefs as Eric Ripert, Michael Voltaggio, Susan Feniger and Wylie DuFresne.

“David Rocco’s Amalfi Getaway”: The Canadian chef and author takes viewers into the home kitchens, restaurant­s and farms of Amalfi to cook with the regular folks and chefs who make simple, honest, rustic Italian dishes that have defined the region for centuries.
