Keke Palmer hosts 37th MTV Music Video Awards

MTV Music Video Awards — Keke Palmer is our host for the 37th annual trophy bash, which honors the year’s best, most creative music videos. Due to the coronaviru­s pandemic, the VMAs won’t be held in a single jam-packed arena, but will feature performanc­es staged at various iconic locations across

New York City. Among the artists scheduled to appear are Lady Gaga (with Ariana Grande), Black Eyed Peas, BTS, CNCO, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Maluma, Miley Cyrus and The Weeknd. Topping the nomination list are Gaga and Grande with nine apiece. (8 p.m. Sunday, MTV, VH1, The CW, BET and other ViacomCBS platforms).

SUNDAY: “Love Fraud” is a twisty, tantalizin­g fourpart documentar­y series that follows the creepy shenanigan­s of Richard Scott Smith, a con man accused of cheating women out of their money and dignity. Now, his victims have banded together to seek sweet revenge. (9 p.m., Showtime).

MONDAY: “Being the Queen” is a sweeping documentar­y that provides a window into the personal life of Queen Elizabeth II.

The film, which relies on an abundance of archival material, mainly focuses on moments when the hidden side of the House of Windsor collides with the public life of the monarchy. (8 p.m., National Geographic Channel).

MONDAY: Consider this a glorious remix. “Planet Earth: A Celebratio­n” is a four-network event that brings together eight of the most extraordin­ary sequences from the Emmywinnin­g wildlife shows “Planet Earth II” and

“Blue Planet II.” Included: new narration from Sir David Attenborou­gh and a fresh score by Hans Zimmer. (8 p.m., BBC America, AMC, IFC and Sundance TV).

TUESDAY: The medical drama series “Transplant” follows Dr. Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Hamza Haq), a Syrian doctor with battletest­ed skills in emergency medicine who fled his country with his sister Amira. Together, they struggle to start anew in Canada as Bash strives to rebuild his career in medicine. (10 p.m., NBC).

WEDNESDAY: “Chef’s Table: BBQ ,” the latest iteration of the culinary series, delves into the smoky, juicy world of barbecue. First stop: Lexington, Texas, where 85-yearold Tootsie Tomanetz is a custodian by day and a legendary pitmaster by night. (Netflix).

THURSDAY: From filmmaker Ridley Scott,

“Raised by Wolves” is a new sci-fi drama series that focuses on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet. As religious difference­s threaten to tear apart the burgeoning colony, the androids learn that controllin­g the beliefs of humans is a very difficult task. (HBO Max).

FRIDAY: Promising an “even more intense, more insane Season 2,” the superhero series “The Boys” returns for more turbocharg­ed action. The story’s team of vigilantes is now on the run from the law – hunted by the Supes, and desperatel­y trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. (Amazon Prime).

FRIDAY: Oscar-winner Hilary Swank heads the cast of the new drama series “Away.” She plays Emma Green, an American astronaut assigned to lead the first mission to Mars. In doing so, she must reconcile her decision to leave behind her husband (Josh Charles) and teenage daughter (Talitha Bateman) just when they need her the most. (Netflix).

SATURDAY: The groundbrea­king documentar­y series “Black Love” returns with back-toback episodes. The program continues to celebrate and examine real, honest and emotional love stories from some of the most successful Black people in business and entertainm­ent, as well as everyday couples. (9 p.m., OWN).
