8 PM ^ Finding Your Roots With Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Host Henry Louis Gates returns with more new episodes in which he gives celebrity family trees a healthy shake to discover secrets from the personal histories of his guests. In the new episode “Fashion’s Roots,” designers Diane von Furstenberg and Narciso Rodríguez and actor-supermodel RuPaul Charles learn about their ancestors. Other guests scheduled for upcoming episodes include Gayle King, Jordan Peele, Ann Curry, actress Téa Leoni, Julianne Moore and U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

In a new episode called “The Cosmic Connectome,” host Neil deGrasse Tyson takes viewers on a voyage of discovery through the evolution of consciousness, with an itinerary that includes stops in ancient Greece and a visit to the largest life form on Earth. The journey also goes inside the poignant dream of an abandoned orphan who opened the path to understanding the architecture of thinking, and introduced a vision of a galactic network of thought.
8 PM G Swamp Thing Convinced that Alec’s (Andy Bean) disappearance isn’t just the result of an accident, Abby and Matt (Crystal Reed, Henderson Wade) make their way into the depths of the swamp, where she encounters Swamp Thing (Derek Mears), in the new episode “Worlds Apart.” Meanwhile, scientist Jason Woodrue (guest star Kevin Durand) arrives in Marais.
9 PM ^ Driving While Black: Race, Space and Mobility in America In this groundbreaking new two-house documentary, historian Dr. Gretchen Sorin and Emmy-winning director Ric Burns chronicle the history and personal experiences of African Americans on the road, from the advent of the automobile up through the seismic changes of the 1960s and beyond. In large part based on a recent study by Sorin, the film reveals how the right to move freely and safely across the American landscape has always been unequally distributed by race and also powerfully challenged in the American experience. 9 PM _ NEXT Due to mishandling by a Zava employee, the A.I. known as NEXT escapes confinement within the servers of its home company and gains access to the internet in the new episode “FILE 2.” After Ethan’s (Evan Whitten) bullying gets worse, he confesses that Iliza has been pushing him to take revenge. Worried about her son, Shea (Fernanda Andrade) recruits Paul (John Slattery) and some of her colleagues to use Ethan’s connection to Iliza to track the next likely location for NEXT. Elizabeth Cappuccino also stars.
9 PM * 2020 NBA Finals If there is a Game 7 of the 2020 NBA Finals, it will be played tonight at “the Bubble” in Orlando, Fla., where the champions of the Eastern and Western Conferences will square off with everything on the line.
