8 PM * The Goldbergs In a new episode called “The Lasagna You Deserve,” Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) recruits Barry and Erica (Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia) to help her teach their kid brother Adam (Sean Giambrone) to be more assertive. Adam takes things too far, however, leaving him guilt-stricken. Meanwhile, Murray (Jeff Garlin) vows to be a better friend after discovering that Vic (guest star Cedric Yarbrough) doesn’t trust him with a secret. David Koechner, Richard Kind, Stephen Tobolowsky, Dan Bakkedahl and Artemis Pebdani also guest star.
8 PM G Riverdale Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead (KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse) prepare for their first day as the newest teachers at Riverdale High in the new episode “Chapter Eighty-Two: Back to School.” The group also meets Veronica’s husband, Chad (guest star Chris Mason), after the latter unexpectedly arrives in town. Betty joins Kevin and Alice (Casey Cott, Madchen Amick) as they follow a lead after learning Polly (guest star Tiera Skovbye, “Nurses”) may be in trouble. 8:30 PM * American Housewife As the 100th episode of his podcast, “Getting Frank With Franklin,” rolls around, Franklin (Evan O’Toole) invites the entire Otto family to be his guests, but after watching the intrusive style he employs with others in the house, Katie (Katy Mixon) vows to keep her own interview light and fun in the new episode “Getting Frank With the Ottos.” That becomes a lot harder, though, when Kathryn (recurring guest star Wendie Malick), Katie’s button-pushing mom, unexpectedly joins her for the session. Matt Shively also guest stars. 9 PM * The Conners A health scare ensues after Darlene (Sara Gilbert) starts to crumble under the pressure of her new job in the new episode “Panic Attacks, Hardware Store and Big Mouth Billy Bass.” Elsewhere, Dan (John Goodman) tries to lend a hand to Ben (Jay Ferguson) at the hardware store, although it quickly becomes obvious the two men don’t see eye to eye on how to run a business. Katey Sagal, Alexandra Billings and Fred Savage guest star.
9 PM G Nancy Drew Nancy (Kennedy McMann) and her crew discover they have yet another battle on their hands in the new episode “The Battle of the Broken Doll.” Elsewhere, Nick (Tunji Kasim) is spooked by some of George’s (Leah Lewis) strange behavior, while Carson (Scott Wolf) makes Nancy an offer she finds hard to refuse.
10 PM * For Life In the Season 2 finale, “Andy Josiah,” Aaron (Nicholas Pinnock) rallies his legal team for what promises to be their toughest trial yet, which involves prosecuting the police officer responsible for killing an innocent — and unarmed — Black man. Indira Varma, Joy Bryant, Dorian Missick and Timothy Busfield also star.
10 PM ( FOOD) Save the Leftovers A
jackpot of $10,000 is on the line as two professional chefs go head to head to see which can do a better job of rescuing leftovers they find in actual home refrigerators and transform them into a restaurant-quality meal in this new one-hour special (that looks a lot like a potential series pilot). Antonia Lofaso serves as host, and she’s joined by guest judge Jake Smollett to determine the winner of the Golden Fridge award, plus the aforementioned cash.
10 PM ( FX) Snowfall Season 4 of this historical crime drama opens on Jan. 1, 1985, where Ronald Reagan successfully has won re-election to the presidency. Yet while this president declares that it’s “morning again in America,” the demand for crack cocaine on the streets of South Central Los Angeles remains higher than ever. Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) and his dealers are reaping the benefits of this rise in drug addiction, but the Los Angeles Police Department is diverting unprecedented money and resources to Washington’s new “war on drugs.” Another episode follows.
10 PM ( FREE) Good Trouble Callie
(Maia Mitchell) gets some big news in the new episode “Arraignment Day.” Elsewhere, Mariana’s (Cierra Ramirez) app becomes popular, albeit with a less desirable crowd than she had hoped. The Coterie members team up with Black Lives Matter to make a united stand and try to free Malika (Zuri Adele). 10:03 PM ( LIFE) Marrying Millions In the new “Engagements and Ultimatums,” Erica hasn’t heard a word from her father on the day before she is to get married, but she and Rick decide to move forward with their rehearsal dinner, hoping he will reconsider.
