Miami Beach, Florida - Joseph W Klein, 87, passed peacefully at his home in Miami Beach. He is survived by his 106-year-old mother, Florence Klein, his best friend and life partner for over 70 years, Roberta (Bobby) Klein, sister, Marlene Bernstein, brothers, Eugene Klein and Gerald Klein, children, Kenneth Klein, Wendy Klein , Ronald Klein, Karyn Klein, Valerie Landis, Kevin Harris (son of Joes Heart), grandchild­ren, Kelsey Donovan, Tyler Landis, Ryan Landis, and Daniel (Zach) Sloman, and great-grandchild­ren, Aiden Landis and Sydney Landis. Joe lived in the Squirrel Hill area of Pittsburgh, attended Taylor Alderdice High School and married Bobby in 1953. He worked in the television rental business in the late 1950’s and in 1960 he moved his family to Florida where his entreprene­urial efforts grew into many successes. He worked in the Florida land developmen­t business, was one of the youngest presidents of a NYSE company in 1970 and ran United Resorts, one of the first and largest timeshare companies of the era. In his later years, Joe shifted from the business world to the role of being a devoted caregiver for his both his mother and his wife. He had the wonderful quality of truly wanting to know people and was a person who contribute­d more to the world than he took. His intelligen­ce, kindness, generosity of spirit and persistenc­e saw him through the many trials of life. Joseph Klein was a man greatly loved who will be deeply missed, forever cherished and will live on through those whose lives he impacted.
