BLACK AND WHITE

-

Re the Sept. 8 story “Dubious legacy: Documentary makes case Liberty City 7 were ‘railroaded’:” The government’s narrative was that the group was a terrorist organization and was going to blow up a building in Chicago. In reality, they were a group of Black men who did not have the means or funds to make that happen. There were no firearms, ammunition or explosives recovered or purchased.

U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta went to trial three times before he got a conviction.

The sentences ranged from six to 13 years in federal prison, though federal prosecutors were asking for 30 years to 50 years.

However, Acosta could not, would not and did not even try to bring an indictment against Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy white man who is alleged to have had sex with many underage girls of moderate means.

In that investigation, the witnesses were going to testify under oath about what happened to them, but they were never notified about the sweet deal Acosta made with Epstein.
