John R. (Jack) Wood July 14, 1932 - January 8, 2022

Miami, Florida - Jack, who passed away on Jan. 8, 2022, had a great sense of humor and a kind, generous heart. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He was a brilliant gardener who took pride in his rose bushes and yard.

Jack was an active member of Fulford United Methodist Church, always volunteeri­ng. He also enjoyed traveling.

Jack, a Miami native who graduated from Edison High, married Una Leroy in 1954.

Miami, Florida - Dolores C. Sendler died peacefully and was born into Eternal Life on Wednesday, January 12 in the company of her only child, daughter Caroline, granddaugh­ter Heather, and her husband Gregory. Known as Lola, Dolores Guadalupe Carmona was born December 12, 1936 in Oakland, California, and emigrated with her family to Mexico City in 1942 where she became a true ‘mexicana’. She moved to NYC in 1963 where she met her first husband Robert Biggs and gave birth to their daughter Caroline in 1964. She relocated again, to Miami in 1972 where she met and married her current, adoring husband Gregory Sendler in 1984.

Her colorful life was marked by her keen business sense and her love of the performing arts. She became the first female manager of a department store in the Hermanos Sanborn chain in Mexico City. She was a voice actor, overdubbin­g character parts in popular US television shows like Make Room For Daddy and others, for broadcasts in Spanish. She was a co-founding partner of Miami’s Internatio­nal Drama Workshop, writing and directing original play scripts. Her brilliant teaching gift was tapped to help create the curriculum for 5th and 6th grade level Magnet Theater Education in Miami-Dade Public Schools. They moved in 1955 to Tallahasse­e, where Jack graduated from Florida State University in 1958. Prior to graduation, he was recruited by Uarco, Inc., which was the largest business-form and system-design concern in the country. He was Uarco’s Salesman of the Year for 1984. It was the highest sales and design award that the company bestowed. He spent his entire career with Uarco and retired in 1995.

Jack was one of seven children of William E. and Ruth C. Wood. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah M. Wood, who died when he was 3; his loving wife of 50 years, Una; and siblings Billy Wood (his twin), Elizabeth Bethel, Patricia Craig, Helen Scanlon Martinez and Marilyn Wood.

He is survived by sister Susan Wood Hartley, sisterin-law Susan Parkhurst and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
