Nashville, Tennessee We mournfully announce the passing of Dennis Henry Stanley, 77, originally Miami Florida Dennis moved to Nashville in 2019, residing at NHC The Trace, to be near his brother and family. Dennis passed away on December 27th, 2021 peacefully in his sleep.

Dennis was born to parents James Marcus Stanley, Jr. & Jeanne Fox Stanley on May 2nd 1944. He graduated from Palmetto Senior High School in 1962 and continued his education by attending the University of Florida where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance & Insurance in 1966. He pursued and was awarded his Insurance Certificat­e in 1971 and also held a Florida General Lines Agent’s License. He completed one year of law at Stetson University

College of Law, prior to joining the US Army in 1967.

While in the Army, Dennis was deployed to serve in Vietnam from July 1968 to June 1969 and was awarded a medal of commendati­on for his Meritoriou­s Service. He was also awarded a medal for good conduct in 1969. He received an Honorable Discharge, from the Army in 1973.

Returning to civilian life, Dennis pursued a career in the insurance industry with Keyes City Insurance – culminatin­g in a role as partner with the firm before retiring.

Dennis lived a full and fulfilling life in Miami with his partner of 30 plus years, Carlos E. Aranda, who passed away in May 2019. Taking trips across the globe on Cruise Ships was a passion. Dennis is survived by his brother Ronald M. Stanley, Sr., sister-in-law Frances F. Stanley, nephew Ronald M. Stanley, Jr. & his wife Laura Stanley, great nephew Ronald M. Stanley, III (Marc), great niece Sarah Frances Stanley, niece April Stanley Edwards & her husband Jamie Edwards, great nieces, Lillian, Amelia & Ellery Edwards. His nephew and niece meant more to him than words can describe.

We, his family, will miss Dennis dearly.
