Climate report to assess impacts of global warming
This week at the virtual 55th Session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the United Nations’ collection of international scientists will be looking at the impacts of global warming, gearing up for decisions regarding the Sixth Assessment Report.
The IPCC is responsible for advancing knowledge on humaninduced climate change. Comprehensive scientific assessment reports are done every six to seven years; the Fifth Assessment Report was completed in 2014 and provided the main scientific input to the Paris Agreement.
The new report, synthesizing the latest climate science, shows that climate change is widespread, rapid and intensifying.
