Asheville, North Carolina - Sally Morgan Kennedy of Asheville, North Carolina died suddenly of heart failure on Nov. 27, 2021.

Sally was born on October 26, 1951 in Miami, Florida. Her childhood home in a rural avocado grove was filled with family, friends, and various beloved dogs and cats. Frequent visits to her grandparen­ts’ home on Islamorada in the Florida Keys inspired a love for the ocean, which she pursued as an accomplish­ed sailor.

Throughout her life, Sally persevered through hardship and tragedy and was a loyal friend who walked alongside others in need. Those who knew her were grateful for the wisdom and encouragem­ent she dispensed with her unique sense of humor. Sally lived a vibrant adult life filled with interestin­g experience­s and enjoyment of travel, food, and art. Following Hurricane Andrew she volunteere­d many hours with Habitat for Humanity. In 1990s Miami she became an avid collector of Art Deco furniture, prints, photograph­s, and “art to wear.” She moved to Asheville in 2001 where she made many friends as she pursued new and diverse interests.

She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Kennedy Kazan (Lynn) and nieces, Sara Morgan Stallings and Jane Michael Stallings.

A Service of Remembranc­e is being planned for Spring, 2022.
