The biggest beneficiaries to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ work for Florida is not its people; we are at the bottom of his list.

Who benefits from his brazen attempts to make himself known nationally? From what I can gather, he is keeping a lot of lawyers very busy and making them very rich. Every outlandish, and often unnecessary, law he signs will be challenged in the courts. Lawyers paid by taxpayers will be arguing the constitutionality of these affronts to democra- cy for years. Just think of all those billable hours.

The national media are another beneficiary to this craziness. DeSantis and Florida have became nationwide jokes. I congratulate the governor for being featured regularly on network news and late-night talk shows.

I have lived in Florida since the 1970s and have never been so appalled by our state’s legislative officials.

It’s all so depressing and sad.
