8PM ^ Benjamin Franklin The twopart documentary from Ken Burns concludes with “An American (17751790),” which examines the later years in the life of this Founding Father. In wartime Philadelphia, Franklin helps Thomas Jefferson craft the Declaration of Independence, before traveling to Paris, where he wins French support for the American Revolution. After returning home, he works on the Constitution for the new republic known as the United States. Peter Coyote narrates; Mandy Patinkin is heard as the voice of Franklin.
8PM _ The Resident Conrad (Matt Czuchry) treats one of Gigi’s (guest star Remington Blair Evans) classmates for a stomachache, but the problem turns out to be something far more serious in the new episode “The Space Between.” Elsewhere, Devon (Manish Dayal) takes several interns to a senior living facility, where they meet a former doctor whose wife falls ill during their visit. 9PM (HBO) Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off Intimate new interviews with skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk are a key component in this all encompassing new look at Hawk’s life and storied career, as well as his relationship to the sport with which he has become virtually synonymous. Still pushing his limits at age 53, this pioneer of modern vertical skating remains one of the most influential skateboarders of all time. Other interviews include another skateboard pioneer, Stacy Peralta, and pro skateboarders Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero and Neil Blender, among others.

10 PM (FOOD) Big Restaurant Bet Celebrated chef and restaurateur Geoffrey Zakarian has $250,000 of his own money that he’s looking to invest in a new rising star of the restaurant world in this new six-episode culinary competition. The show follows Zakarian as he puts eight talented chefs through a series of challenges to determine which of them seems best suited to run their first restaurant. That dream is tougher than ever to realize in the current reality, but Zakarian is ready to do whatever he can to lift up a new generation of chefs.
10 PM (TLC) Doubling Down With the Derricos Togetherness is a wonderful thing, but Deon and the kids take it to a whole new level as they jointly tackle potty-training the triplets in the new episode “Jesus Take the Wheel.” Meanwhile, Darian attempts to get her learner’s permit as her dad wrestles with the harsh reality that his little girl is growing up. Elsewhere, mom Karen confronts her past as she struggles to heal from heartbreak.
