“Eyewitness” (FXM, Sunday, April 10): William Hurt would go on to have bigger hits and win an Oscar, but the recently deceased actor gave an early hint of his screen promise in director Peter Yates’ excellent 1981 mystery. Hurt plays a janitor who pretends to know more about a murder than he actually does, in order to pique the interest of a television reporter he has a crush on (Sigourney Weaver). When the killers come to believe he does know that much ... uh-oh.

“Happy Days” (MeTV, Monday, April 11, and Tuesday, April 12): Henry Winkler had plenty of opportunities to grow the character of Fonzie through good scripts, and the two-part episode “The Graduation” was one such story. The leather-jacketed icon tries to keep it a secret that he’s been attending night school so he can graduate with his buddies ... but everyone manages to flunk a final exam, so no one will get a diploma unless they take it again and do much, much better on it.

“2 Broke Girls” (TBS, Tuesday, April 12): This extremely sassy sitcom had its own way of doing things, and that certainly was the case with its holiday episodes. “And the Very Christmas Thanksgiving” proved that early in the show’s run, with Max and Caroline (Kat Dennings, Beth Behrs) working as department-store elves during the appropriate season. The two of them take very different approaches to the job.

“Airplane!” (AMC, Thursday, April 14): One of movie satire’s best friends, this 1980 spoof became a massive hit and inspiration by turning disaster films on their head. “Airport 1975,” in particular, is borrowed from liberally as a former pilot (Robert Hays) has to overcome his literal fear of flying when the crew of the plane he’s aboard is incapacitated. Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves and Robert Stack all do great, enormously memorable jobs of sending up their usually serious images.
