Bruins win to clinch playoffs
Jeremy Swayman rebounded from a rough stretch with 23 saves and the Boston Bruins clinched a playoff spot by holding off the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 Saturday to halt a seasonhigh three-game losing skid.
Trent Frederic and Erik Haula each scored a firstperiod goal for Boston, which went on the skid after winning 17 of 21.
Former Bruin Danton Heinen scored for the Penguins, who fell to 2-5-1 in their past eight. Casey DeSmith stopped 27 shots.
The Bruins went 0 for 2 on the power play, extending their scoreless stretch to 25 straight.

Predators 4, Blackhawks 3: Mikael Granlund had a goal and an assist in Nashville’s victory over Chicago.
Blues 6, Wild 5 (OT): Brayden Schenn scored 56 seconds into overtime and host St. Louis wrapped up a playoff spot, beating Minnesota for their season-high eighth straight victory.
Oilers 4, Golden Knights 0: Mike Smith made 39 saves for his second consecutive shutout and 44th overall and Edmonton beat Vegas. Edmonton moved six points ahead of Los Angeles for second place in the Pacific Division and are 14-3-2 in its last 19 games.
