8PM (HGTV) Home Town Kickstart
Building off the small-town revitalization movement inspired by Ben and Erin Napier (“Home Town”), this new series gives six quintessential cozy communities across the country a huge boost to their own crusades to re-energize their town. In each episode, HGTV experts take the lead on three projects for each town, including revamping a small business, refreshing the home of a local hero and reinvigorating a public space to improve local quality of life.
8PM (STRZ) Gaslit Inspired by a popular podcast, this suspenseful new docudrama chronicles previously untold stories, often involving forgotten characters, in the Watergate political scandal, from some of the subordinates to President Richard Nixon to the zealots aiding and abetting the crimes that eventually ended Nixon’s presidency in 1974. The main players in the powerhouse ensemble include Sean Penn and Julia Roberts star as Attorney Gen. John Mitchell and his whistle-blowing wife, Martha, and Betty Gilpin (“GLOW”) and Dan Stevens (“Downton Abbey”) as Mo and John Dean.
9PM ^ Sanditon on Masterpiece In the Season 2 finale, Alison (Rosie Graham) prepares to leave Sanditon with her dreams of romance fading, while Esther (Charlotte Spencer) faces a bleak future. 10 PM (HBO) Barry Series cocreator and star Bill Hader returns to his Emmy-winning role of hitman-turned-actor Barry Berkman as this dark comedy returns following an extended pandemic-related hiatus. As the story resumes, Barry is desperately searching the dark web for jobs, while Sally (Sarah Goldberg), now starring in her own show, feels the pressures of success. Elsewhere, Gene (Henry Winkler) can’t stop thinking about Funches’ (Stephen Root) devastating revelation.
