Bucks didn’t see new-look Celtics

They Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics — who start their Eastern Conference semifinals series Sunday at 1 p.m. (ABC) in Boston — split their four meetings this season. But they never met at full strength or with the Celtics’ post-trade deadline roster with a starting lineup of Robert Williams, Al Horford, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart on the floor. That group is 27-7 together this season.

Both teams won their first-round series without too much trouble, with Boston sweeping Brooklyn and Milwaukee rolling to a 4-1 win over Chicago.

The Bucks might still be without forward Khris Middleton. He hasn’t played since spraining the medial collateral ligament in his left knee 11 days ago in Game 2 against the Bulls.

GRIZZLIES-WARRIORS

The Memphis Grizzlies rallied yet again Friday night in Minneapolis, 114-106, to eliminate the Timberwolves in Game 6 of their series. Memphis advanced to a Western Conference semifinal series against the Golden State Warriors that begins Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

(ABC) in Memphis.

In three of their wins, including the finale, the Grizzlies overcame double-digit deficits entering the fourth quarter.

“Physically, mentally, this series was a battle," said Memphis point guard Ja Morant, who was 4 for 14 from the field in Game 6 and had 17 points and 11 assists. “Obviously, the wins were pretty ugly outside of Game 2, but we got it done.”

The Warriors have been off since Thursday, when they eliminated Denver in Game 5. They are in their seventh conference semifinal in 10 seasons, and Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are both as healthy as they've been since reaching five straight NBA Finals from 2015-19.
