TUESDAY’S BEST PICKS

-

9PM ^ American Masters “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa, the son of a Native Hawaiian himself, makes a fitting narrator for “Waterman — Duke: Ambassador of Aloha,” an illuminating profile of five-time Olympic medalist Duke Kahanamoku, who shattered records as a swimmer and helped bring surfing to the world. While justifiably revered in his native Hawaii, however, Kahanamoku is far less well known to the world at large, partly because of the rampant racism he battled during his lifetime. Interviews include musician Jack Johnson and surfers Kelly Slater and Carissa Moore.

9 PM (MAGN) Restoring Galveston Home renovation specialists Michael and Ashley Cordray return for their fourth season of saving centuries-old homes in Galveston, Texas. In the season premiere, “Alley Cat House,” the Cordrays turn an alley home once filled with cats into a getaway. The property is highlighted with custom features including reclaimed wood walls and an upcycled stock tank bathtub.

10 PM (FOOD) Big Restaurant Bet The competition reaches its climax as host Geoffrey Zakarian lets each of the two chef finalists do a full restaurant takeover, setting up their eatery with a full staff, as well as real diners — which, needless to say, include Geoffrey himself, in the season finale “It’s Yours to Lose!” Even if both chefs manage to succeed in proving their prowess though, only one of them can earn Zakarian’s investment of both his time and energy.

10 PM (TLC) Doubling Down With the Derricos In the Season 3 finale, “A Love Song for Everyone,” grandma GG begins her chemotherapy treatment with son Deon by her side, while Darian receives an unexpected surprise. Then, the Derrico Six record a love song for GG, and a Valentine’s Day party in her honor helps her find her fighting spirit.

10:01 PM & New Amsterdam In the new episode “Rise,” Max (Ryan Eggold) gets an alarmingly clear perspective on how severely Dr. Fuentes’ (recurring guest star Michelle Forbes) budget cuts are damaging New Amsterdam, moving him to realize it’s now or never for him to make him move. Meanwhile, Iggy (Tyler Labine) takes an unconventional approach to connect with a young patient in need. Elsewhere, Reynolds and Wilder (Jocko Sims, recurring guest star Sandra

Mae Frank) perform a risky surgical procedure that could save the lives of unborn twins.
