He attended Fairlawn Elem & fell in love with learning at a young age, mentored by his sister Colleen, an educator 14 years his senior. Math, Science & Literature were important subjects in the Lunn family home. Patrick’s dad was a “Key Wester” who was the navigator on Pan Am’s 1st transatlantic flight; his mom had the distinction of typing up Hemingway’s final draft of “The Sun Also Rises.”

“Pat” attended U of Miami as an undergrad & also received a Masters in EDU there in 1970, the same year he married me, Cheryl Sandoz. We had two wonderful sons, Patrick & Michael.

He went on to develop the #1 Magnet Science & Math Program in the early ‘90s at Stirrup Elem, where students from across Dade Cty were drawn into the world of technology. During his 25+ yrs at Stirrup, Pat & his Magnet team orchestrated field trips to NASA & countless Youth Fair science projects. He was rewarded by many cherished letters from former students
