8 PM ^ Lucy Worsley Investigat­es British historian Lucy Worsley reopens some of the most dramatic — not to mention brutal — chapters in British history in this two-part special, which concludes next Friday. In each hour, Worsley uncovers forgotten witnesses to past events for a fresh perspectiv­e on what happened, after re-examining old evidence and following new clues. In tonight’s opener, “Princes in the Tower,” she tries to discern the true fate of the two young royals who, according to Shakespear­e’s “Richard III,” were murdered by their ruthless uncle, Richard of Gloucester.

8 PM $ The Equalizer McCall’s (Queen Latifah) vow to capture Mason Quinn (guest star Chris Vance), whom she holds accountabl­e for Bishop’s death, threatens to turn into a full-blown obsession that could cost her everything in the Season 2 finale “Exposed.” Elsewhere, Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes) finally meets her mom’s support team when she needs Harry and Mel’s (Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira) help to prove a classmate made her best friend a victim of revenge porn. Tory Kittles also stars. CBS has renewed this crime drama for two more seasons.

8PM & 2022 Billboard Music Awards Sean “Diddy” Combs is host and executive producer of this year’s awards from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Among this year’s nominees, The Weeknd is the top contender with nods in 17 categories. His collaborat­ion with Ariana Grande, “Save Your Tears (Remix),” is up for six awards. Doja Cat is the leading female finalist with 14 nomination­s; Justin Bieber, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Olivia Rodrigo have 13 nods each. Mary J. Blige, Megan Thee Stallion and Red Hot Chili Peppers are among the scheduled performers.

8PM (LIFE) MOVIE Fit to Kill

A young woman who yearns to be part of the fashion industry is over the moon with joy when she is hired to work for a celebrity model turned designer. She quickly learns that landing a dream job sometimes can turn out to be a nightmare, though, after she is forced to endure some extreme emotional outbursts on the part of her boss, not to mention a series of bizarre events. Revell Carpenter, Sarah Voigt and Maeve Quinlan star in this 2022 thriller.

9PM (HBO) The Time Traveler’s Wife Emmy-winning writer Steven Moffat (“Sherlock”) adapted Audrey Niffenegge­r’s literary fantasy for this new TV series about the marriage of Clare Abshire (Rose Leslie, “Game of Thrones”) and Henry DeTamble (Theo James), a relationsh­ip that is complicate­d by an unusual nuisance: time travel. Specifical­ly, Henry is afflicted with a rare disorder that causes him involuntar­ily to jump backwards and forwards in time. Desmin Borges and Natasha Lopez also star in the drama, which will air six episodes in Season 1. 10 PM * The Rookie In the season finale “Day in the Hole,” Officer John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) is forced to spend a week in solitary confinemen­t in a quiet border town, in the company of a young local officer who is in need of some training. Elsewhere, Sgt. Bradford and Officer Chen (Eric Winter, Melissa O’Neil) discover that looks can be deceiving as they go undercover together in a possible drug-traffickin­g case. Brent Huff, Alan Tudyk, Sara Rue, Dylan Conrique and Pete Davidson guest star. ABC has renewed this series for a fifth season.

11 PM (FOOD) Inside Eats With Rhett & Link The Season 1 finale takes hosts Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal inside the laboratori­es and innovation kitchen at Beyond Meat to test how much the company’s plant-based foods can match both the flavor and texture of meat. Later, the duo samples both classic and innovative dishes made with Beyond products and learn some of the surprising science that makes it all possible.
