In the aftermath of the fire, Crockett (Dominic Rains), Ethan (Brian

Tee) and Archer (Steven Weber) work together to try and save the survivors. Meanwhile, Charles (Oliver Platt) and Med’s new fellow, Nellie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada), help a paranoid patient. Dylan makes a life-changing decision on the Season 8 premiere episode “How Do You Begin to Count the Losses.”

8PM * The Conners The loving but dysfunctio­nal Conner family returns in the Season 5 premiere that sets the stage for a new era for the family. Last season we saw both Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) marry their longtime loves Ben and Neville (Jay R. Ferguson, Nat Faxon). That means the clan will no longer all be living together in one house. John Goodman, Lecy Goranson also stars. 8:30 PM * The Goldbergs The Season 10 premiere episode “If You Build It” has everyone living back at home and the house full of Goldberg chaos and stuff, which is driving pregnant Erica (Hayley Orrantia) bonkers, leading her to enlist Beverly’s (Wendi McLendonCo­vey) help clearing things out. Meanwhile, Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Barry (Troy Gentile) are forced to share a bedroom to make room for the baby nursery, which leads Adam to come up with the ultimate prank to get back at Barry.

9PM & Chicago Fire It looks like the honeymoon’s over. Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Kelly Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) honeymoon is interrupte­d before it really begins by a dangerous person from their past. Kidd’s former academy classmate joins Firehouse 51 while Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) and Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) reflect on their relationsh­ips in the Season 11 premiere episode “Hold on Tight.”

9PM * Abbott Elementary Teachers are back for developmen­t week, a time to prepare before the students’ first day of school. Post-breakup, Janine (Quinta Brunson) is determined to start the year off right and takes on organizing the faculty mixer, announcing a special celebrity surprise she planned for the kids’ first day. Meanwhile, Ava (Janelle James) runs a side hustle out of the school parking lot and Gregory (Tyler James Williams), now a full-time teacher, is in over his head with the curriculum in the Season 2 premiere “Developmen­t Day.”

9PM (HBO) Escape From Kabul This documentar­y premiere examines the 18 monumental days in August

2021 that the U.S. withdrew its troops from Afghanista­n and the subsequent evacuation of tens of thousands of Afghan citizens from Kabul airport after the Taliban seized the city. It combines never-before-seen archival footage from those on the ground at the airport and exclusive interviews with people who were there throughout the period, including Afghan citizens attempting to flee, U.S. Marines tasked with managing the evacuation, and Taliban commanders and fighters who had recently taken the city.

9:31 PM * Home Economics The Hayworth siblings are back in the Season 3 premiere episode “Mickey Ears, $19.99,” which picks up where we left off last season. Tom (Topher Grace) finds out that Connor (Jimmy Tatro) is his new boss after purchasing the Dutch media firm that is handling Tom’s book release. That news threatens to ruin Marina’s perfectly planned trip to the Happiest Place on Earth — Disneyland

Resort in California. We can also expect more baby news from Sarah (Caitlin McGee) and Denise (Sasheer Zamata). 9:59 PM $ The Amazing Race For the first time in its history the show begins outside of the United States as the 12 teams competing in the Season 34 premiere begin their race in Munich, Germany. Even crazier, the show is eliminatin­g “non-eliminatio­n legs,” meaning one team will be out after every leg. Among the contestant­s this season are former Los Angeles Rams cheerleade­rs, a data scientist, a firefighte­r, a dancer and even an ESPN analyst and former NFL coach, Rex Ryan.

10 PM & Chicago P.D. Still reeling from the death of his informant Anna (Carmela Zumbado), Voight (Jason Beghe) faces a new threat as he tries to keep the neighborho­od clean. Meanwhile, new wrinkles develop in the Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Voight dynamic and the team gets a new chief in the Season 10 premiere episode “Let It Bleed.” This is the last season on the series for Soffer. Benjamin Levy Aguilar joins the cast as Officer Dante Torres.
