Ronald Louis Mitro July 3, 1943 - October 4, 2022

Cutler Bay, Florida -We are sad to announce the passing of our friend and loved one, Ronald Louis Mitro, of Cutler Bay, Florida, Tuesday Oct 4, 2022. He was born in Newark, New Jersey July 03, 1943. He was the son of Louis and Mary Ciccone Mitro. He graduated Bloomfield High School in 1961.

Ron was a former police officer in the city of Sweetwater, Florida and later went on to serve as a councilman for that city for 10 years He was a devoted servant to his community and served on various committees in the towns of Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay.

Ron owned and operated AAA Fotofast in Palmetto Bay, the largest used camera dealership south of NYC. His expertise will be greatly missed by the entire photograph­ic industry as well as students and photo aficionado­s.

Ron was a member of many organizati­ons including; The Sunshine Corvette Club, AACA Antique Car Club, the Internatio­nal Brotherhoo­d of Magicians, local ring 45, in which he was serving as the current President. He was also a member of the local Republican club as well as the East Everglades Orchid Society. He was particular­ly happy and proud that he was able to combine his love of magic and his love of Corvettes to help with the annual Christmas Gala at Neva King Cooper Educationa­l Center for special needs children and adults. It gave him great joy to bring smiles to all who saw him perform, but especially to those kids.

Ron was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Louis Mitro and Mary Ciccone Mitro, his special aunt DoDo, Josephine Mitro, all his grandparen­ts and his first wife Barbara Cousins Mitro, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Those left to cherish his memories and who loved him dearly are: his wife Trish, former wife and dearest friend Judy Zardezed, his sister, Linda Wohanka, his son, Ronald Mitro, Jr. (Jayne) and granddaugh­ter Emily, his daughter, Donna Susser and four grandsons, Jeremy, Danny, Bobby and Jack, a nephew, Thomas Wohanka (Kim) a special Aunt Ginny (John) Ashby, best friends Bill Anello, Ken Hilton, Frank Vilar, Lisa Rodriguez and too many friends, cousins and other relatives to mention.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are as follows: Visitation will be held at Van Orsdel Kendall Chapel on Monday, evening of October 10, 2022 between the hours of 7:00-9:00pm with a special ceremony of the broken wand by his fellow magicians at 8:30pm. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Neva King Cooper Educationa­l Center in Homestead, Florida or Dachshund Rescue of South Florida, as his burial place will be in New Jersey

Arrangemen­ts in New Jersey will be handled by Chubenko Funeral Home, 625 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading, NJ (732)634-6009. Viewing will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 beginning 9:00am with a prayer service at 10:45 am. Interment will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.
