Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles), this new series follows the story of how they met and their quest to save the world. When John returns home from fighting in Vietnam, a mysterious encounter sparks a new mission to trace his father’s past. He then meets 19-year-old demon hunter Mary, who is also searching for answers after the disappearance of her own father. 8PM (HGTV) The Renovator Entrepreneur, designer and television personality Marcus Lemonis (“The Profit”) identifies and remedies problems with his clients’ homes, and through a series of honest conversations and activities about the design process, he creates solutions for each family’s physical surroundings and personal trials that will lead to awesome reveals. In the series premiere, he heads to Orange Park, Fla., to help a family of six organize and update their outdated home.
9PM 39 Professionals Top-tier security operative Vincent Corbo (Tom Welling) is paid to protect the interests of rich and powerful clients by any means necessary. But after a next-gen medical-data satellite explodes on launch, Corbo is hired by the rocket’s designer, billionaire futurist Peter Swann (Brendan Fraser) who suspects sabotage. Complicating Corbo’s job is his former girlfriend and now Swann’s fiancée, medical visionary Dr. Graciela Davila (Elena Anaya), who is racing to help stave off a global catastrophe in the series premiere episode “Snipe Hunt.”
9PM (BET) Tyler Perry’s The Oval Washington continues to be a den of deceit and power in the political thriller’s Season 4 premiere episode “The Package.” Victoria (Kron Moore) gets disturbing news from the White House doctor concerning Jason (Daniel Croix Henderson), while Donald (Lodric D. Collins) learns Grip (Will Adams) is not the indestructible man he thought he was. Ed Quinn, Javon Johnson and Ptosha Storey also star.
9PM (HBO) MOVIE 38 at the Garden Jeremy Lin, an undrafted point guard and Harvard grad, shocked fans, stunned his teammates and galvanized Asians around the globe with a string of performances that brought on “Linsanity.” Notably, the 38-point scoring outing referenced in the title came against the LA Lakers and saw Lin outplay all-time NBA great Kobe Bryant. 10 PM 2 Becoming Frederick Douglass Born in 1818 in Maryland, Frederick Douglass escaped slavery in 1838 and went on to become the most well-known leader of the abolitionist movement. A gifted writer and charismatic speaker, it is estimated more Americans heard Douglass speak than any other 19th century figure — Black or white. This new special explores how Douglass controlled his own image and narrative, embracing photography as a tool for social justice, and the role he played in securing the right to freedom and complete equality for African Americans.
