Martha Asche February 22, 1928 - September 27, 2022

Miami, Florida - ASCHE, Martha, 94, of Miami, passed away peacefully at her home of 64 years surrounded by family on September 27. She was born in Miami in 1928 at the beginning of the Great Depression when her beloved parents Dutch and Hattie Waits had migrated to Miami from farms in Hawthorne, Florida. She graduated from Miami High School in the class of 1945. She enjoyed her 50th and 60th Class Reunions here in Miami. She attended Florida State College for Women; now FSU.

She was an enthusiastic Girl Scout Leader and for many years was a substitute teacher on a daily basis at local elementary schools. Her love of children was a hallmark of her life.

She was a faithful and active member of the congregations of Lejeune Presbyterian, Trinity Presbyterian, and Southwest Community churches.

She was always first in line to help those that were in need or incapacitated. Her loving, loyal, and generous spirit will be missed by her family and friends.

Predeceased by husband of 59 years Charles. Survivors include daughters Laura Mena (Frank), Susan Hartman (Darrell), and son Charles Asche; 5 granddaughters, 8 great grandchildren, and cousin Paul Hardy (Beverly).

The family would like to thank all the caretakers who helped make her final days comfortable and peaceful.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, November 20th at 2:00 PM at the Southwest Community Church, 8951 SW 44th St.
