Then in the nightcap, the scene switches to Crypto.com Arena, where Kawhi Leonard and the LA Clippers are technicall­y the home team in their game against Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers.

8PM * The 56th Annual CMA Awards Who will take home the coveted Entertaine­r of the Year Award at this year’s 56th Annual CMA Awards? Viewers will have to tune in and find out. What we do know is that Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen are vying for the honor in a race that’s too close to call. 8PM (DSC) Moonshiner­s Rise and “shine” everybody. In the Season 12 premiere it seems America’s favorite illegal beverage is suffering with supply chain issues just like everyone else. For Tennessee shiners Mark and Digger, their problems stem from a determined member of law enforcemen­t looking to shut them down. Meanwhile, Mike and Jerry are looking for innovation to stay ahead of the competitio­n. And in Virginia, Tickle and Henry need to find a new place for their 1,000 gallon still.

9PM G Kung Fu Nicky (Olivia Liang), Henry (Eddie Liu), Ryan (Jon Prasida) and Pei-Ling (Vanessa Kai) try to make sense of some disturbing informatio­n they’ve learned about Xiao (also played by Kai). Then, Althea (Shannon Dang) and Dennis (Tony Chung) help his sister after she learns that money has gone missing from their family’s charitable trust. Elsewhere, Mei-Li (Kheng Hua Tan) is forced to make an impossible decision in the new episode “Rescue.”

10 PM & Chicago P.D. Apparently, he is good at what he does. When actionable evidence finally surfaces against Sean O’Neal (Jefferson White), Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and the team work relentless­ly to build a case in secret. They discover Sean is more elusive and dangerous than anticipate­d in the new episode “Into the Deep.” Jason Beghe, Patrick John Flueger, LaRoyce Hawkins, and Marina Squerciati also star.

10 PM (HBO) Hard Knocks in Season: The Arizona Cardinals The Season 2 premiere follows the NFC West contenders as they begin to navigate the challenges of an NFL season and battle to return to the postseason. Led by their third-year signal caller, the talented young quarterbac­k Kyler Murray, the team started 7-0 for the first time since 1947, when the franchise was in St. Louis, en route to a Wild Card playoff berth. The Cardinals lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs.

10 PM (IFC) Documentar­y Now! Drawing inspiratio­n from “My Octopus Teacher,” the new episode “My Monkey Grifter” follows Benjamin Clay (Jamie Demetriou), a filmmaker who forms a deep, emotional, and financiall­y taxing relationsh­ip with a monkey who may have ulterior motives. Is the primate friend or foe or just looking for a paycheck? The episode was written by series co-creator Seth Meyers, with Fred Armisen joining as Detective Blakely.
