“The Fugitive”

(Decades, Monday, Nov. 7): You’ll have to get up very early (or stay up very late) to see it, but this drama’s two-part conclusion – “The Judgment” – stands as one of the highest-rated series episodes ever shown. David Janssen’s wrongly accused Dr. Richard Kimble catches up to his wife’s actual killer, a one-armed man (Bill Raisch), with police lieutenant Gerard (Barry Morse) in typically hot pursuit. The result is still as suspenseful as it originally was in 1967.

“The Carol Burnett Show”

(MeTV, Monday, Nov. 7): An episode from very early in the comedy-variety series’ run teams two of the alltime great ladies of television humor, since Lucille Ball is the principal guest. She famously was a mentor to Burnett when the latter began her TV stardom, and the true affection between the icons is easy to see. Also among the guests is Tim Conway, who was destined to become a regular cast member on this show later.

“Home Alone”

(Freeform, Wednesday, Nov. 9, and Thursday, Nov. 10): No one should be home alone at the holidays ... unless you’re young Kevin McAllister, and even then, it’s only for entertainment purposes. Macaulay Culkin became a major star in one of the most enduring of all family-oriented comedies, written by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. Accidentally left behind when the rest of his family heads for Paris, Kevin defends his Chicago house against a couple of thieves (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) in the 1990 blockbuster.

“Goodfellas”

(AMC, Thursday, Nov. 10, and Friday, Nov. 11): Watching the 1990 crime drama widely deemed to be director Martin Scorsese’s masterpiece is somewhat bittersweet now, given the recent passings of stars Ray Liotta and Paul Sorvino. Mobster-in-the-making Henry Hill (played by Liotta) accrues colorful underworld cronies including mentor Jimmy (Robert De Niro) and quick-tempered underling Tommy (Joe Pesci, in his deservedly Oscar-winning performance).
