What’s open and what’s closed on Christmas Day and Monday?

Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, so get ready for that extra day off or altered hours on Monday for public services.

But, there’s good news if you’re suddenly short on rolls or sazon completa on Christmas Day: A few places will be open for a supply run, including some supermarket chains.

Here’s what to know about what’s running and when on Christmas Day and the legal holiday that’s on Monday, Dec. 26:

SUPERMARKETS

Publix: Closed Christmas Day.

Winn-Dixie and Fresco Y Mas: All stores closed Christmas Day.

Sedano’s: Stores open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Milam’s Market: Closed on Christmas Day.

Price Choice Supermarkets: Open regular hours on Christmas Day.

The Fresh Market: Closed on Christmas Day.

Whole Foods Market: Closed on Christmas Day.

Trader Joe’s: Closed on Christmas Day.

BIG BOX RETAILERS

Costco: Closed on Christmas Day. Open at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 26.

Target: Closed on Christmas Day. Open at 7 a.m., Monday, Dec. 26.

Walmart: Closed on Christmas Day. Open at 6 a.m., Monday, Dec. 26.

B.J’s Wholesale

Club: Closed on Christmas Day. Open at 8 a.m., Monday, Dec. 26.

MAJOR SOUTH FLORIDA MALLS

Remember, individual stores might close earlier than the mall as a whole.

MASS TRANSIT

Miami-Dade: Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a weekend schedule on Christmas Day. Administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26. Special Transportation Service customers can still reserve or cancel a trip by calling 305-871-1111.

Broward: Broward County Transit will operate a holiday schedule on Christmas Day and a regular weekday schedule on Monday, Dec. 26. Customer-service representatives will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at 954-3578400 (TTY 954-3578302) on Christmas to provide trip-planning assistance for fixedroute and paratransit services. Staff will also be available from 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. both days at the BCT Main Terminal, 101 NW First Ave. in Fort Lauderdale, and Lauderhill Transit Center, 1359 NW 40th Ave. The Northeast Transit Center in Pompano Beach will be closed. Customer-service offices will be open as normal on Dec. 26, but administrative offices will be closed.

Tri-Rail: Christmas Day service will run on a weekend/holiday schedule. Monday,

Dec. 26, will be a normal schedule.

Brightline: Trains will be running throughout the holiday weekend.

GARBAGE PICKUP

Miami: None on Christmas Day.

Miami-Dade: No garbage or bulk pickup on Christmas Day or Monday, Dec. 26.

There will be recycling pickup on Dec. 26.

Fort Lauderdale: None on Christmas Day. But you can put your live trees outside for pickup starting Dec. 26. Take the ornaments off.

Broward County: None on Christmas Day.

In other municipalities, check with your waste-management provider.

U.S. POSTAL SERVICE

Post offices will be closed with no mail delivery (unless it’s Priority Mail Express) on Christmas Day and Monday, Dec. 26.

BANKS

The Federal Reserve Bank is closed on Christmas Day and Monday, Dec. 26, so your bank branch is probably closed those days, too — unless you’re a customer of TD Bank, which says it’s open Monday Dec. 26.

STOCK MARKETS

The New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ are closed on Monday, Dec. 26.

COURT SYSTEM AND COUNTY OFFICES

Miami-Dade: Closed Christmas Day and Monday, Dec. 26.

Broward: Closed Christmas Day and Monday, Dec. 26.

LIBRARIES

Miami-Dade: Closed Christmas Day and Monday, Dec. 26. Online services are available every day.

Broward: Closed Christmas Day and Monday, Dec. 26. The website never takes a day off, however.
