Fried-food lover’s paradise
Craving chicken tenders and crinkly French fries right this very moment?
Of course you are.
For those of you who admitted that fried food is always a good idea, you’ll be stoked to hear Raising Cane’s is coming to Miami Beach.
Raising what?!
The cult favorite, founded by two business students in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, back in 1996, is basically writing the book on all things salty, greasy and delicious. They have more than
600 locations throughout the United States.
“At Raising Cane’s, it all starts with 100 percent premium white meat chicken tenderloins that are marinated, hand-battered and cooked to order,” says the company description. The menu is also renowned for its dipping sauces, including the “secret-recipe” tangy meets spicy signature, as well as honey mustard and a hot sauce.
You will also find other down home Southern sides you long for such as crinkle-cut fries, cole slaw, massive pieces of Texas toast, house brewed sweet tea and fresh squeezed lemonade.
Um...yum.
People apparently love this place so much that they proudly call themselves Caniacs. Celebs are even jumping onto the Cane’s wagon: Chevy Chase (as Clark Griswold in “Christmas Vacation” mode) is the face of holiday merch and reality star Scott Disick just served their chow for son Mason’s Bar Mitzvah in L.A.
Homestead folks likely already know that RC chose this on-the-rise rural(ish) city as its first
Florida location. The fastcasual joint opened last month with great fanfare, a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Homestead
Mayor Steve Losner at 2301 NE Eighth St.
Pro tip from a fried food fanatic: If you feel guilty about all the oil and carbs you jam down your gullet, head over to nearby Robert is Here for a nice smoothie afterward.
Jon Wantz, Raising Cane’s area leader of restaurants, said the company was “delighted” with their first Sunshine State spot.
“The Homestead community has welcomed us with open arms as we’ve spent time gearing up for the opening and introducing Cane’s to the community.”
Next to open its arms? Miami Beach, on Jan. 17 at 1651 Washington Ave.
Can we get a whoopwhoop from our fellow fried food addicts?
It’s OK, you don’t have to admit to busting your diet here just yet. We’ll see you on line late night after the club. These spots are open until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.
