8 PM ^ American Masters This new episode explores the enduring friendship between Dick Cavett and Groucho Marx. Cavett, a writer for Jack Parr on “The Tonight Show,” met Marx at the funeral of playwright George S. Kaufman in 1961. When Cavett made the transition from writer to comedian in 1965, he was encouraged and mentored by Marx. In 1968, Cavett became the host of his own talk show and Marx became a frequent guest capturing what Cavett called “the last of Groucho’s greatness.”

San Francisco-based restaurant, Fang, to new heights in Chinese cuisine.

Her father and business partner,

Peter Fang, is one of the city’s mostelite chefs and owner of the famous House of Nanking. However, she must convince him that a modernized menu will help her expand and achieve what she coins as, “Chinese cuisine world domination.” A private dinner for influencer­s puts her new ideas to the test, in the series premiere episode “Old School, New Food.”

9PM (HGTV) Fixer to Fabulous A couple with young children wants to honor the history of their 100-year-old craftsman, and yet make it a functional forever home for their family.
