Plenty of events surrounding NHL All-Star Game
The 2023 NHL All-Star Game, taking place at Sunrise’s FLA Live Arena, is fast approaching.
But beyond the game itself on Feb. 4 and the NHL’s Skills Competition event the day before, there are also a slew of events taking place throughout Broward County — although primarily at Fort Lauderdale Beach.
The headline event by the league is its All-Star Beach Festival, which will run from Feb. 2-4 at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park (1100 Seabreeze Blvd.).
The NHL described the event, which is free and open to the public, as being filled with “familyfriendly, hockey-interactive games and attractions.” It will also host the NHL’s new United by Hockey Mobile Museum and have appearances from NHL All-Stars and
Alumni, trophy and memorabilia displays, and a chance to take a picture with the Stanley Cup.
Also taking place at the beach festival:
The taping of one of the Skills Competition events, the Enterprise Splash Shot. The event features four 2023 NHL All-Stars and guest teammates going head-to-head in a target shooting tournament-style competition. The taping will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Upper Deck Rink. Seating will be available on a firstcome, first-served basis.
The NHL All-Star Red Carpet, which begins at 3 p.m. Friday.
The eighth-annual NHL Mascot Showdown, which will have mascots from 30 teams (including the Panthers’ own Stanley C. Panther) competing in three days of events including a dodgeball tournament, mascot frenzy (featuring musical chairs, tug of war and a “strut
AAAyour stuff” competition) and an NHL Street mascot challenge.
A free watch party for the All-Star Game on Feb. 4 for those not attending the game at the arena.
The beach festival will be open from noon until 8 p.m. on Feb. 2, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Feb. 3 and 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Feb. 4.
In addition to the beach festival, here is a day-byday look at the other events that will be taking place leading up to the game:
