Miami, Florida - Joseph Michael Vores, 66, died unexpectedly on Jan. 17. He was a lifelong boater and marine craftsman who was swept away before his time. Son of Mary and Joseph Vores, Mike was born March 21, 1956, at Mercy Hospital. He began his marine career at age 17 at Merrill-Stevens in Coconut Grove and today owned Marine Power of Florida. His knowledge of boats and engines was unsurpassed. Yacht quality was his standard in everything he did. Mike met the love of his life, Ibby, at Neptune Saloon in the Grove in 1976. They married in 1982 and, all told, were together 46 years. He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His closest survivors are wife Elizabeth (Ibby) and sister Mary Patricia Dunstan. He leaves a wide array of others who will mourn him, A celebration of life will be held in late February. Mike’s love of dogs ran a close race with his love of the sea: Donations in his name may be made to Good Karma Pet Rescue at http:// mikevores. funraise.org/
