Miami, Florida - Dolores (Lola) passed away on May 2, 2023 peacefully, on her birthday, at the age of 102. Born on May 2, 1921 in Havana, Cuba, to her parents, Antonio and America Puig. She was a graduate of the University of Havana, where she received a doctorate degree in mathematic­s. She was predecease­d by her husband, Alberto. In 1961, they made the decision to move to Miami, Florida, where they started a new life.

Lola, is survived by sons, Albert and Jorge (Patti), daughter Nuria (Andy), and seven grandchild­ren: Christina Otero Geeza (Nick), Daniel Otero (Tiffany) , Ryan Otero, Andy Rubert III, Alexandra Rubert Broms (Eric)

Palmetto Bay, Florida Mary Anne Nichols of Palmetto Bay, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, after spending six days at St. Anne’s Catholic Hospice Center in Miami, Florida surrounded by family and friends. Mary Anne was born on January 13, 1935, at Oltore House in Caherlistr­ane, County Galway in Ireland. She was the daughter of Walter Keady and Gertrude (Coyne) Keady. She was preceded in death by her sister Kay Keady.

Mary Anne was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Charlie F. Nichols to whom she was married for 45 years. They met in Kenya, East Africa , while she was on holiday and Charlie was on a multi-year assignment with Eastern Airlines. They eventually moved to Miami, Florida, a place that Mary Anne soon began to love. She and Charlie traveled the world together and were well known among their many friends for the fabulous patio happy hours and dinner parties they hosted over the years.

Mary Anne attended school at University College Galway and Dublin University. She worked in hospital radiology department­s in Dublin, Ireland; London, England; and Nairobi, Kenya. , Alex Rubert and Jackie Otero, She is also survived by eight great grandchild­ren.

Lola will be remembered for her dedication to her family and for emphasizin­g academic performanc­e with her children and grandchild­ren, while simultaneo­usly being extremely supportive and greatly involved in the children’s and grandchild­ren’s athletic endeavors. She was tremendous­ly proud of her family. She will also be remembered for her sense of adventure in traveling to all corners of the world with her husband, family and friends.

With her love for mathematic­s, she spent her career as a teacher, starting at Immaculata High School in 1961 (after various years as a mathematic­s professor in Cuba) and finishing at Miami Springs High School. She was well respected by her colleagues and loved by her students.

Lola will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering devotion to her family, and her love for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
