Miami, Florida - Lois M. Nesper Yount August 14, 1923 - May 6, 2023 Miami, Florida - Lois passed away on Saturday, May 6, after spending several weeks in the hospital surrounded by her loving family. Lois was 99 years young, and remained sweet, strong and intelligent to the very end. Lois grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Leo Yount in 1944. They started their family with the birth of 2 sons in Cedar Rapids, before moving to Miami in 1951 and adding 2 more boys and 2 girls to the Yount family. Lois and Leo built their home on SW 32nd Street, in Schenley Park, where they raised their 6 children and a host of neighborhood kids who were always welcomed. Lois will be remembered for her love of family, especially the children. She had favorite songs to sing them to sleep, and instilled her love of reading and playing cards to everyone. Her family was proud of her, and she was incredibly proud of all of them.
Lois is predeceased by her husband Leo, grandson Daniel Yount, as well as her 4 sisters,1 brother, and many cousins whom she

Florida dearly loved. She is survived by sons: Richard (Jennifer Alm), Douglas (Olga), Martin (Elizabeth), Dorrance (Kim), daughters: Mary (Rick) Oakley, Patricia Geiger. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and Jimmy Hill, who is like a son.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 17th from 6-9pm at Maspons Funeral Home-Westchester 7895 SW 40th Street. A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Epiphany 8235 SW 57th Avenue on Thursday May 18th at 10:30am followed by a burial at Miami Memorial Park 6200 SW 77th Ave.
Please join us following the burial for a reception to celebrate the life of Lois at Café Vialetto 4019 LeJeune Road Coral Gables, Fl from 1:30pm - 4:30pm.
