BULLHEADED AMERICANS

-

The question of how many Americans are measurably ignorant of this culture has never been addressed to any significant degree and for a good reason. This nation prides itself on many historical fictions that have permeated the educational system for years.

Should this ever be recognized as the reality it is, especially by those who can motivate change for the intellectual benefit needed for our future, there is the possibility of a future for democracy and for the rule of law. Otherwise, this nation’s future will be filled with the same ignorance infecting the values of so many millions of our citizens today.

The results of this ignorance can be seen and felt in the decision-making processes of our so-called leaders and in the behavior of so many people of renown and celebrity status.

Ignorance is defined as “lack of knowledge,” which almost always leads to poor predictability as to how to solve problems. Stupidity, on the other hand, is the act of behavior in support of ignorance. Today’s problems are addressed by the most incompetent of people, namely, lawyers, politicians, militarists, religious and others who have no history of an intense interest in public service or education in human interaction. As a result, there is no predictability to the outcome for resolutions to our domestic or international problems.

The media could intervene with a search for viable answers. Otherwise, the results could well be the end of American influence on the world.
