Miami Beach, Florida - In Loving Memory - Orestes Luis Padilla, known affectiona­tely as “Louie” to many, passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2024, in Miami Beach surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born on August 5th, 1945, to Orestes Padilla and Raquel Fernandez in Havana, Cuba, and came to the U.S. in January of 1961. Louie served in the U.S. Army and graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administra­tion. He lived a life filled with love, laughter, and many cherished moments, and will be remembered for his kindness, entreprene­urial skills, wit, and sense of humor. Louie touched the lives of all who knew him for his warmth, generosity and devotion to friends and family. He approached life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. Louie will be forever cherished by Sheryl, his wife of 46 years, and his sons Mauricio Padilla, Jason Fahlbush and Scot Fahlbush, his daughter-in-law Lisa, his grandchild­ren: Alessandra, Ashley, Jazmyn, Julia, Jensen, Jakob, and Grant, his three great-grandchild­ren: Naomi, Cooper, & Ava, his sister Sylvia and brother-inlaw Juan J. Hernandez, his many nieces and nephews, as well as his extended family members and many, many friends. His memory will continue to live in the hearts of those he touched. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on March 15th, 2024, at the Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables, FL, followed by a committal service of his ashes at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Doral, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in memory of his generosity and kindness.
