The Golden Knights needed overtime to earn two points after squandering a third-period lead for the second game in a row.

Alex Tuch buried a sharpangled shot just over two minutes into OT, giving the Golden Knights a 4-3 victory over the host New York Rangers on Sunday.

“It’s great to score in front of friends and family,” said Tuch, from Syracuse, New York. “I know what Madison Square Garden is, what it means to the city. It’s pretty cool to not only score the overtime winner, but to score in this building.”

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 27 shots in his 423rd career victory, which moved him into a tie with Tony Esposito for ninth on the NHL’s wins list.

“Since the day we got him in the expansion draft, he is the leader of our group,” Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant said of Fleury. “He gives us a chance to win every night.”

Paul Stastny, Reilly Smith and William Carrier scored for Vegas, which extended its points streak to four straight games. The Golden Knights blew a three-goal lead in an overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils on Friday night.

Hurricanes 3, Coyotes 0:A

Warren Foegele scored his first goal since October, Petr Mrazek made 23 saves in his first shutout of the season and host Carolina beat Arizona.

Defenseman Calvin de Haan had two assists for the Hurricanes, who won for only the second time in seven games this month.

Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho also scored for Carolina.

The Hurricanes had coughed up a three-goal lead in Friday’s shootout loss to Washington but were able to close out the Coyotes, who lost for the fifth time in six games.

Tkachuk, son of former Blues star Keith Tkachuk, pounced on the rebound of Giordano’s shot to get the Flames going 5:58 into the game. Lindholm scored short-handed on a breakaway to match a career high with his 17th goal, Giordano added on with a power-play goal and Quine made it 4-0 less than two minutes later.

Sabres 4, Bruins 2: Jeff Skinner tucked the winning goal past Tuukka Rask with 3:13 remaining for his second score of the night, and Buffalo beat host Boston.

Skinner’s team-leading 24th goal came off a feed behind the net from Jack Eichel, who had two goals and two assists in his return to Boston. Eichel grew up in nearby North Chelmsford and starred at Boston University. Eichel added an empty-net goal with 24.2 seconds left. Linus Ullmark had 35 saves for the Sabres, who had lost six of eight.
