Re the Jan. 11 story “PortMi­ami will grow even big­ger than orig­i­nally planned — if new MSC Cruises ter­mi­nal is ap­proved.”

What is miss­ing is that mega-cruise ships are built, reg­is­tered and crewed for­eign, while Car­ni­val Cruise Line has a con­tract with China to build two cruise ships — with an op­tion to build four more — for the Chi­nese mar­ket. All other or­ders for new mega-cruise ships are go­ing to for­eign ship­yards with none for our own mar­ket.

Aren’t we miss­ing the boat for pres­tige, good jobs, tax col­lect­ing, re­duc­ing the deficit and “Mak­ing Amer­ica Great Again?”
