Notre Dame women roll to win
Marina Mabrey scored 18 points and host No. 1 Notre Dame dominated from start to finish in a 78-48 victory over Wake Forest on Sunday.
Jessica Shepard had 16 points while Brianna Turner had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Fighting Irish (16-1, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who got a rare off-day from leading scorer Arike Ogunbowale. Ogunbowale, who had 30 points Thursday in Notre Dame’s 82-68 win over No. 2 Louisville, saw her 37-game double-digit scoring streak end. She scored just four points on 1-of-11 shooting.
Christina Morra scored 13 points for the Demon Deacons (9-7, 0-3).
No. 2 Louisville 61, Georgia Tech 44: Asia Durr scored 21 points and host Louisville (15-1, 3-1 ACC) bounced back nicely from its first loss of the season, topping Georgia Tech (12-5, 2-2).
No. 3 UConn 63, South Florida 46: Katie Lou Samuelson scored 19 points to reach the 2,000point milestone and host UConn (14-1, 3-0 American) overcame a sluggish start to beat South Florida (10-7, 1-2).
No. 6 Stanford 78, Arizona 48: Alanna Smith scored 20 points, DiJonai Carrington added 19 and Stanford 14-1, 4-0 Pac-12) rolled past Arizona (13-3, 3-2) (to complete a twogame Pac-12 road sweep.
No. 8 N.C. State 66, Virginia 38: Erika Cassell had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and North Carolina State (17-0, 4-0 ACC) remained the only unbeaten Division I women’s team with a victory over Virginia (7-10, 1-3).
No. 10 Oregon State 76, USC 52: Mikayla Pivec scored 19 of her 21 points in the second half and visiting Oregon State (13-2, 4-0 Pac 12)routed USC (10-6, 0-5).

No. 2 Michigan 80, Northwestern 60: Jon Teske scored all 17 of his points in the first half, and host Michigan is now off to its best start in program history. The Wolverines (17-0, 6-0 Big Ten) started 16-0 on two previous occasions, but this season’s team surpassed that by routing Northwestern 10-7, 1-5).
No. 6 Michigan State 71, Penn State 56: Nick Ward had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 6 Michigan State (15-2, 6-0 Big Ten) over Penn Stat (7-10, 0-6).
STATE MEN
Late Saturday—Old Dominion 75, FIU 74: Ahmad Caver scored 22 points, but when he missed with time running out Dajour Dickens had the rebound and the putback with 1.1 seconds remaining, and Old Dominion (12-5, 2-2 Colonial Athletic Association) battled past host FIU (11-6, 2-2 C-USA). Brian Beard, Jr. scored 28 points with 10 assists to lead FIU and Trejon Jacob added 16 points.
