Raptors edge Wizards with late three-point shot

Serge Ibaka hit a threepoint­er with 15 seconds left in the second overtime, and the Toronto Raptors survived to earn their fifth straight win, 140-138 over the host Washington Wizards on Sunday.

The Raptors blew a 23point lead but outlasted the stubborn Wizards, who never led until early in the second extra period.

Kawhi Leonard had 41 points and 11 rebounds to pace Toronto, which led 51-28 with four minutes to play in the second quarter and 96-79 with 57 seconds to play in the third.

Bradley Beal had his second triple-double of the season, collecting season highs of 43 points and 15 assists along with 10 rebounds. His 3-pointer with 20.4 seconds left in regulation tied it at 124 to force overtime. His jumper with 6.8 seconds to play in the first overtime tied it at 131.

Leonard had 13 straight points in the fourth quarter and overtime. Toronto missed seven of nine from the field in the second OT and didn’t score for nearly 31⁄2 minutes, but Washington could only push ahead by three points during that stretch.

Pascal Siakim scored 24 and had a career-high 19 rebounds for the Raptors.

Otto Porter, who had 27 points, missed a 3-pointer with 6 seconds to play in the second OT.

Trevor Ariza narrowly missed his second career triple-double. He had 23 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds before fouling out with 44.7 seconds left.

Warriors 119, Mavericks 114: Stephen Curry scored 48 points, making 11 three-pointers, and Golden State held off host Dallas. Kevin Durant added 28 points for the Warriors, and Klay Thompson had nine of his 16 in the fourth quarter as the Warriors received a valiant battle from a Dallas team playing without its top two point guards. Curry’s 11th three-pointer of the game-tying a season-high — gave the Warriors a 117-114 lead after a see-saw fourth quarter.

Magic 116, Rockets 109: Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon each scored 22 points and host Orlando took advantage of James Harden’s awful three-point shooting to beat Houston.Harden scored 38 points to push his run of 30-point games to 16, but was 1 of 17 from three-point range and 11 of 32 overall from the field. He made 15 of 16 free throws and had 12 assists and nine rebounds.

Bucks 133, Hawks 114: Giannis Antetokoun­mpo scored 33 points, Eric Bledsoe added 24 points and 10 assists, and Milwaukee won in coach Mike Budenholze­r’s return to Atlanta.Khris Middleton finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds to help the Bucks improve to 30-12, second-best in the NBA. Coming off a loss at Washington that Antetokoun­mpo missed with injuries, Milwaukee is 12-0 following a defeat and remained the league’s only team not to drop consecutiv­e games.

Budenholze­r made his first appearance at State Farm Arena since leaving the Hawks after last season. Trae Young led Atlanta with 26 points.

76ers 108, Knicks 105: Ben Simmons had 20 points, 22 rebounds and nine assists, and Joel Embiid scored 26 points to help Philadelph­ia win at New York. New York’s Emmanuel Mudiay missed a three-pointer at the buzzer. Kevin Knox scored 31 points for the Knicks. They have lost four straight and 19 of 22.

Grizzlies: Forward Kyle Anderson is expected to miss at least two to four weeks because of a sprained left ankle. The Grizzlies announced Sunday that Anderson had a Grade 2 sprain. Anderson hurt the ankle Saturday in a 112-108 loss at Miami. Anderson has made 38 starts this year in his first season with the Grizzlies.
