How cold will it get? Depends where in Florida you are

- BY MICHELLE MARCHANTE mmarchante@miamiherald.com

How do Floridians know it’s time to bring out the sweaters, hats and gloves?

When it gets so cold, the water parks have to shut down.

Yes, you read that right. Universal Volcano Bay, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and SeaWorld Orlando’s Aquatica, which were closed Monday, will also be closed Tuesday because of chilly temperatures, according to CBS-affiliated WTSP.

How cold are we talking about?

Highs are expected to be in the mid-60s this week in Central Florida, with temperatures dropping into the low 40s Monday and Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

What about South Florida?

Forecasters says the region will see chills on Tuesday night, as it did on Monday night.

But, it’s still more bearable than the rest of the state.

What day will be the coldest? When will temperatures spike up again?

Here’s what you need to know:

Tuesday is forecast to

be the coldest day in South Florida this week, with a high that won’t reach 70. Temperatures will also dip into the 50s Tuesday night, but it’s expected to be slightly warmer than Monday night.

If you were making

plans to visit Santa’s Enchanted Forest, make sure you bundle up. In addition to the chilly weather Monday and Tuesday nights, lows will be in the 60s for the rest of the week.

Temperatures will start

to rise again Thursday — but it won’t be until Friday when highs will rebound to near 80.

While it will be cold,

● the good news is that skies are expected to be clear
