Julio Iglesias lists Indian Creek Village property for $31.8 million

Julio Iglesias will try, again, to sell his properties on Indian Creek Village.

This time he’s going with a different strategy.

The Spanish singer and songwriter listed a slice of his waterfront property on the Miami Beach island on Friday for $31.8 million. The empty, two-acre property faces west toward Biscayne Bay. Iglesias bought the lot for $22 million in 2014.

The 80,000-square-foot lot at 4 Indian Creek Island Rd. is the fourth of a total four empty waterfront spaces Iglesias listed in 2017 for a total $150 million. The lots totaled approximately eight acres.

Jill Eber is the listing agent. Eber is one of the founding partners with the luxury residential brokerage firm The Jills Zeder Group, an affiliate of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate.

The property is priced at $387.50 per square foot, an approximately 17% discount from when the entire lot went on the market for

$469 per square foot.

“Mr. Iglesias listed lots four, five, six and seven in 2017,” Eber wrote by email. “The reality is that there are very few buyers for a sale that large. The properties came off the market in 2018 and at this time Mr. Iglesias only wants to list for sale 4 Indian Creek Island Road.”

Another lot at 9 Indian Creek, spanning 80,087 square feet, sold for $27.5 million in 2018.

The exclusivity of the island — dubbed “Billionaire Bunker” for the estimated net worth of its residents — will be a selling point, Eber said.

“There is [also] no other available empty lot for sale on Indian Creek,” Eber said.

Iglesias, the father of nine children, including musician Enrique Iglesias, told the Miami Herald in 2017 that he bought the lots to build single-family homes for his children in 2014. But his plan never panned out, he said.
