FORGET THE PARTIES U.S. SOCIALISM

-

I urge President-elect Joe Biden to forgo inaugural celebrations. The millions of dollars pouring in could help people stay in their homes, help small businesses weather closures and feed the hungry.

It is unseemly to have anything more than a swearing-in ceremony. Too many are suffering in this country and around the world for there to be lavish celebrations.

The writer of the letter “Don’t get Santiago”, says that Heald columnist Fabiola Santiago doesn’t love the Unied States because she criticizes PresidentTrump. He goes on to say both their families fled Cuba to escape socialism.

Actually, both families fled Cuba to escape communism. Upon in the United States were offered socialism in the form of financial aid for food, clothing, rent, medical care and a shortcut to citizenship through the Cuban Adjustment Act, which moved them families to the front of the line.

Socialism continues today in the form of Social Security, Medicare, food subsidies, fire and police departments, roads and countless services we take for granted. Virtually all these programs were instituted by Democratic administrations.

Does anyone believe Trump would have opened our borders to them?
