Stanley Squire August 10, 1945 - January 19, 2021

Miami Gardens, Florida

- Stanley Dale Squire 75, passed away in his Miami Gardens home on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 surrounded by family. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington Jr, Sr. High School (1963) and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), receiving a BS degree in Biology, 1967.

After graduating from FAMU, Stanley became a salesman for WYETH Pharmaceutical Laboratories; an insurance and securities salesman for Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company; real estate broker..

He was an avid fisherman. He loved fishing in any body of water: Biscayne Bay, Lake Okeechobee, and the Keys.

“Adventure of life is to learn.”

Stanley loved to read and always had a book-on-tap playing while driving. His house is filled with a myriad of books, from religious philosophy, music theory to self-help books like ‘Rich Man Poor Man’..

“The essence of life is to care, be kind and compassionate.”

Stanley had a passion to inspire others and was committed to his profession as a teacher and counselor at North Miami Beach Jr, High School, Miami Northwestern High, Carol City Middle, and Lake Stevens. His kindness and inspiration extended to countless students.

He had a personal commitment to the community and wanted to establish a neighborhood “Stock Exchange” in Liberty City. He worked 8 to 10 years researching and compiling information, creating Liberty City Dining Development as a vehicle for community-based economics. He also worked as an independent columnist for the Miami Times and Black News Weekly.

Due to illness, Stanley retired from the Dade County Schools system in 2008. His students called him “DAD.” They showed their appreciation to him by continuing to visit and encourage him during his retirement.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Yvonne: his daughter, Dr. Piper Lynn Squire, his son, Aurin Squire, nieces, grand nephews and many cousins.

Memorial Service is 12pm, February 6th. Due to COVID19 restrictions, an online memorial service for Stanley Squire will take place on ZOOM, FACEBOOK Live, and in- person at Cosmopolitan Baptist Church, 3003 NW 207th Street, Miami Gardens (limit 30 people)
