9 PM ^ NOVA The new feature film “Picture a Scientist” examines systemic gender and racial discrimination that have existed for decades in the field of science, presenting evidence of that discrimination via personal anecdotes and hard data. The documentary reveals how women, especially those of color, have run into bias during their careers, with the result that they currently make up less than a third of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professionals in the United States.
9 PM G Nancy Drew Nancy’s (Kennedy McMann) far from a pushover, but she’s up against a formidable adversary as she and iron-willed local matriarch Celia Hudson (guest star Teryl Rothery) go head to head in the new episode “The Trail of the Missing Witness,” directed by actress Kristin Lehman (“Motive”). 9 PM (HGTV) Bargain Block Home renovation experts Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas get to fulfill their longtime dream of restoring some of Detroit’s most iconic neighborhoods, one house at a time, in this new home renovation series, which also delivers a welcome jolt of feel-good energy to viewers. With the help of old friend and lifetime Motor City resident Shea Hicks-Whitfield, a real-estate expert, Bynum and Thomas buy as many dilapidated and abandoned homes as they can on a single block, then renovate them while keeping them affordable for Detroit buyers.
