Russian lawyer and opposition leader Alexei Navalny has gotten international coverage over his hunger strike opposing the oppressive Russian communist government.

Cuban artist and opposition leader Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara has gotten no world press coverage over his current hunger strike, his refrain from drinking liquids and the consequent demonstrations opposing the oppressive Cuban communist government.

Both situations are similar. Both battle a brutal repressive government.
