WRONGLY BLAMED

OxyContin was doctorprescribed for 20 years and dispensed by CVS and Walgreens pharmacies, among others. This resulted in about 500,000 deaths, according to published reports, and a huge multibillion-dollar settlement. Now CVS and Walgreens should be made responsible.

The Sept. 2 story, “Judge approves plan to resolve opioid claims,” speaks of pursuing CVS and Walgreens for their wrongdoing. The pharmacies are vendors, not gatekeepers, of medical care.
