Belen Jesuit boys’ cross-country team is King of the Hill

The Belen Jesuit boys' cross-country team is the King of the Hill after winning the King of the Hill Invitation­al at Tropical Park in Miami.

Belen bested a field of 22 high school teams from Miami Dade, Broward and Monroe counties.

The Wolverines placed seven runners in the Top 10. Belen, which is ranked No. 2 in the Southeast by Dyestat and No. 1 in Florida by Milesplit, totaled a spectacula­r 16 points.

Columbus was the runner-up with 43 points, and Palmer Trinity was third with 152 points.

Belen senior Adam Magoulas and sophomore Joshua Ruiz, who completed the 5K course in 15 minutes and 40 seconds and 16:01, respective­ly, led the Wolverines. Magoulas finished first and Ruiz second of 198 runners.

Belen will run at Spanish River Invitation­al Saturday in Boca Raton.
