Charlotte Futerfas May 13, 1927 - September 12, 2021

Miami, Florida - Charlotte Anne Futerfas, the daughter of Jack Myers and Francis Eglichen, was born in Boston, Massachuse­tts on May 13, 1927 and came to Miami in the early 1950’s after college at the University of New Hampshire. She received a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in piano performanc­e. Charlotte was an accomplish­ed musician and vocalist. Charlotte worked on Miami Beach at various hotels and met her husband, Irwin S. Futerfas. They married in 1956 and were together until Irwin’s passing in 2018. Charlotte was a dedicated county employee, working first as a part-time physical education teacher in the Miami public schools and then became an assistant manager of the box office at the Dade County Auditorium, a position she loved and held for many years. Charlotte was a long time and proud member of Local 500 of Internatio­nal

Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

Charlotte was a member of the former Temple Zion and sang in the choir for many years. More recently, she was a member of Temple Beth Tov Ahavat Shalom. Charlotte was involved in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Elks, Fairchild Tropical Gardens and the Bromeliad Society of South Florida. Charlotte was the beloved mother of Judith N. Futerfas, Neal D. Futerfas, who predecease­d her, and Alan S. Futerfas. She is survived by her children Judith and Alan, and by her beloved grandchild­ren Arianna, Zoe, Jack and Harry. Because of her loving, kind and generous nature, Charlotte had a very wide circle of friends and was beloved by everyone who knew her. She will be dearly missed. Funeral is at 2:30 pm on Monday, September 12, 2021 at Mt. Nebo, located at 5900 SW 77th Avenue, Miami, FL 33143.
