8PM (NGEO) Life Below Zero: First Alaskans This absorbing new docuseries follows several Alaska Native individuals as they use sophisticated techniques and methodology that nevertheless have been passed down from generation to generation, allowing them to thrive in brutal environments. These Indigenous Alaskans live in a dual reality that includes both traditional practices and 21st-century challenges. Among the main personalities, the Jody Potts family lives off the land on the Yukon River, while Marvin Agnot’s days are synched to the rhythm of local tides.
9PM (ID) The Hillside Strangler: Mind of a Monster This new true-crime docuseries examines a case that kept residents of the Los Angeles area on edge between October 1977 and the following February, when an unknown serial killer preyed on victims whose bodies were found in the hills surrounding the city. In 1979, police apprehended Kenneth Bianchi for the murders of two University of Washington students. His arrest shocks the world of psychiatry and sparks new interest in one of America’s most notorious serial killer investigations.
10 PM Explorer: The Deepest Cave

The latest installment in National Geographic’s long-running “Explorer” series, this new one-hour special follows cave explorer Bill Stone and his team to Cheve Cave in Mexico, where they try to set a record by venturing into the bottom of what is thought to be the deepest cave in the world. That challenge involves navigating through more than 12 miles of unexplored tight, twisting passages, often in complete darkness. It’s a treacherous course where a single mistake could prove fatal, but Stone has recruited a team of 69 elite cavers.
