Canes get Dillard’s Jackson for first 2024 commit
The Miami Hurricanes’ incredible recruiting week now includes their first commitment in the Class of 2024 — and it’s a big one.
Antione Jackson, an elite safety prospect at Dillard, flipped his oral commitment from the
Georgia Bulldogs to Miami on Saturday, announcing his new pledge on Twitter after he visited Coral Gables the previous weekend.
The Hurricanes, across the classes of 2023 and 2024, have now landed six blue-chip recruits in the past week.
Jackson committed to Georgia in March after wrapping up a visit in Athens, but was a frequent visitor at Miami throughout the spring and early summer. Now he has a chance to be a leader in the Hurricanes’ 2024 recruiting class as a Fort Lauderdale native and one of the best players in
South Florida.
The 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back is the No. 83 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings for the 2024 recruiting cycle. He primarily plays cornerback for the Panthers and was a firstteam all-Broward County selection by the Miami Herald last year after he logged 31 tackles with four interceptions.
Jackson’s commitment capped a massive week for Miami’s Class of 2023. The Hurricanes landed elite quarterback Jaden Rashada on Sunday, Edison star wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph on Tuesday, blue-chip Melbourne Eau Gallie athlete Robert Stafford on Thursday, elite IMG Academy tight end Riley Williams on Friday, and IMG Academy offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa on Monday.
With those five commitments, Miami’s 2023 recruiting class jumped more than 30 spots in the national rankings into the top 10.
